Best Friend Session | Richmond, VA Family Photographer
What a fun session! Teen girls are SO easy to photograph! They love the camera and are open to all the fun poses. This was a special session because it was with my oldest daughter, Ella and one of her best friends, Khloe! Ella and Khloe were on the school JV volleyball team together as well as the same travel volleyball team with Richmond Volleyball Club! Their friendship has been growing ever since, and I've enjoyed the funny car chats while driving them all over Richmond to and from practice.
I was so proud when Ella asked me if I would take their pictures before the 8th grade dance. I was worried that we wouldn't get to take the photos at all because there was a HUGE storm just an hour before we started! But thankfully the sky cleared, and it turned out to be a nice evening. We started in a pretty field in Mechanicsville, VA and then made our way over to a clubhouse/lake in a nearby neighborhood. The field was a little muddy from the rain, but nothing that my baby's burp cloths can't fix! Burp cloths to the rescue. Mud came right off Khloe's shoe, and we were good to go!
The clubhouse was so cute. It is actually a historic hall-and-parlor home built in the late 1700's and used to house General J.E.B. Stuart and his cavalry in the Civil War. It was enlarged in the Italianate style post Civil War and named Rutland. We took a few photos on the cute white porch and then made our way to the back of the house where Ella and Khloe ran into more friends from school! It was so fun to hear them cheering on Ella and Khloe as they were getting their pictures taken by the lake. Once we came back up to the patio, I decided that it would be fun to get all the girls in a photo before they headed over to the dance! I was so glad I did. It turned out SO cute, and it's one of my favorite shots from the session.
I loved this session so much that I would love to do more "friend sessions"! They had the best time getting dressed up and pampered, and the dance was a fun final event to mark the end of their middle school era! Off to high school, and it will be time for their Senior photos before I know it! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session, and if you would like to book your own Friend Session, click HERE!
