What a fun-filled family session! I’m thrilled to share the highlights from the Jones family session! I had the pleasure of working with this sweet family in the studio I share with a friend here in Richmond, VA! I love that this family opted for a studio session instead of the typical outdoor Fall session. It was a great change of pace, the kiddos were contained, and we got some great shots! The stars of the show were Olivia & Claire, ages 4 and 16 months. They are too cute! I love photographing sweet sisters, and these two didn't disappoint.

I work with Sam at the VA, and we have been planning this session for months! It was great to finally meet his lovely wife, Lauren, and their two adorable little girls. I always start a family session with the whole family together! It's great for little kids to be with their mom and dad while getting warmed up to the camera. But look at these first few photos - they didn't need warming up! These are my favorites from the whole session! I love the colors they chose too. Mom did a great job planning the outfits! A pop of color always looks good.


Another benefit of a studio session is an outfit change! Mom was able to quickly change the little girls dresses, which makes for great variety in their gallery! It's not always possible to have an outfit change with an outdoor session. Mom REALLY wanted a shot of Olivia twirling in her dress. Being almost an hour in, Olivia was pretty much done with taking photos by this point, but she gave us one sweet twirl in exchange for a lollipop. Deal! I'm a big fan of bribes during family photos :) It's always a good idea to bring snacks and bribes... just no chocolate or anything that melts and can get on faces and clothes!


Thank you to this wonderful family for allowing me to capture these photos for them. My hope is that all of my clients will be able to look back on their images and remember how little their children were at one time!
